What You Can Learn From Michael Jackson

What You Can Learn From Michael Jackson

TRANSCRIPT:

What’s up, people? It’s Yo, man. General Tomahawk. And I’m back with another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. And in today’s motivation lesson, I’m going to tell you what you can learn from Michael Jackson. Now. Mike, is known as the King of Pope or playing the King of music. He has been gone for a while now, and we’ve all had quite a bit of time to assess and process his legacy. And I know he had some struggles towards the end. The last part of his career might not have been as distinguished as early on. There are still a whole lot of lessons and motivation that you can take away from the life of the King of Music. So let’s get right into it. One of the big lessons that you can take away is to get into your craft at the earliest possible opportunity. If you are going to decide that you want to be a football player.

If you’re going to decide you want to get into basketball. You want to get into nursing. You want to become a doctor. You want to become an entrepreneur, you want to become a businessman or you want to be an online marketer. Any of these things get into it, make a decisive move into it at the earliest opportunity. Don’t spend a lot of time going from thing to thing to think. Because that way you get good by getting into it as soon as you can and spending a lot of time in it. When you look at Michael’s career, how he became so good. He started out as a very young kid. I was impressed the other day watching a video of young Mike. He was the youngest of his brothers on stage. They were all playing guitars and bass guitars, and they were all singing. The important thing is Young Mike, as young as he was. He was the one they trusted to be the lead singer. He was the one that was singing the lead vocals. All his brothers were backing him on vocals and playing instruments. But Young Mike was the star of that show. They were all-stars, but he was like the superstar of that show. So that’s the thing, never be afraid to go in and make a fool of yourself. And you might get it wrong a lot of the time because you don’t have the experience when you go into it. But that’s how you craft your talent. The next thing is don’t be afraid to become a superstar in whatever you’re doing. And you can see it with Young Mike from that age. I mean, he went on and on and with the Jacksons, but then also as a solo artist. And he was willing to stage some of the biggest spectacles in the world of music that the world of music has ever seen. And he was able to create the kind of art that had a huge impact.

Yet another big lesson is don’t be afraid to experiment. When you look at Mike’s career, one of the things that impressed me is how he was able to not be a pop musician. He was that of a pop singer but he was able to span genres in the kind of stuff he was doing. Like he was able to be a pop singer but then was also able to sing R&B. He was able to do some songs that were hard rock. He was able to do all kinds of different things. He was able to be a great dancer and introduce some unique iconic dance moves that live on to this day. He still has a huge following and left a huge impact on the world of music and art. You cannot do that if you’re not willing to experiment. Now another big lesson! The key takeaway is no matter what you’re trying to do. You have to follow an approach where you dedicate yourself to your craft. You want to become the best in the world at your craft. Take that approach and that approach will lift you higher and higher. It doesn’t matter what field and what industry you are in.

Whether you are in the internet marketing industry, you are in banking or you are in athletics. When you go out there to get as good as you can at your craft. Become the best in the world at your craft then you can reach the pinnacle. Look at Mike but not him. Look at the other great stars Kobe Bryant, TomBrady, Michael Jordan, and Mike Chester. They were all willing to work hard and become good at their craft and that’s what made them so good. So with that concludes lessons that you can learn from Michael Jackson but these are by no means of theirs. There’s a whole lot more general Tomahawk out.

Djokovic

TRANSCRIPT:

Welcome back to another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. Today I want to talk about an important topic if you’re going to be a champion and make a huge difference in your life.

That’s I want to talk about a great champion from whom you can learn a lot about success. About becoming great and about becoming a champion. Facing down your hardships, facing down your critical, and facing down your obstacles.

Tackling everything in your path to go on your way to becoming great. And that’s Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Definitely in the running for the greatest tennis player of all time, along with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. And there are some important lessons that we all can learn from Jacobitz. So here they are, some of them, at least in a very quick fashion.

The first one is to be willing to change. There was a time when Djokovic was another tennis player on the professional circuit and he was playing well. He was playing well and he got good, but he could never beat the guys that were in front of him, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

There was definitely a time when Rafa was such a big obstacle for Novak and he lost a lot of games and Slams to these guys. And then something happened. Novak changed. He started winning Slams, he started winning big matches, even against the top guys. He started beating Rafa, he started beating Federer and everything changed for him.

But for that to happen, he had to change. And he got on a diet. He went gluten-free. He did all kinds of things and he became almost unstoppable. So take that lesson for yourself. If you want to break through to the next level, you got to be willing to change yourself. Don’t expect that things are going to change around you.

If you don’t do anything, you are going to have to make the change yourself first. Change yourself, and everything around you will then change in a similar fashion. And the other big thing I want you to take away from Novak is to see the bigger you.

When Novak was good but not great, he kind of stayed in a small place in his mind. I’m sure he must have thought that these other guys were always greater than him. And then when he broke up out of that, he started winning. He started beating the top guy.

He started winning Wimperdon, winning Australian Open and went on an incredible run there. He said some new records in the world of tennis. He did a lot of crazy things. So for that to happen for you, you got to see the bigger you, and you got to live up to how that bigger.

You live and do things and does his or her work. And that’s what will open the path for you to do the big goals that you want to do.

There’s a lot more than you can learn from Novak. And for tennis fans, his career is something very spectacular.

Even the way he plays the game, he got the most perfect game in the world of tennis and that’s incredible. So there’s a lot for Champions to learn from Novak. With that general Tomahawk out.

Becoming A Billionaire

Becoming A Billionaire

TRANSCRIPT:

Hello, guys. It’s the general. And I’m back with another episode of How I Became General Tomahawk. And in this episode of the show, I want to talk about a very important motivation topic. Now, becoming a billionaire, as we all know, is something that’s hard.

So regardless of what your financial goals are going to be, you need to challenge yourself. For a lot of people, making a million might be the ultimate goal. Driving a Lamborghini, owning a global Corporation, finding a huge software set up like Slack, or one of those whatever your goal.

You got to get ready for some grueling hard work. Because becoming a billionaire, becoming President of the United States of America. Whatever country, whatever place is going to take a lot of hard work. Also, be ready with an ample amount of imagination.

If you cannot even imagine stepping outside of your box. Stepping outside of your comfort zone. Becoming a Marine, becoming a Navy Seal, becoming an NFL champion, getting into the major leagues, things like that, it’s not likely to happen.

So first you got to get it up here. You got to see the stuff before you can do the stuff. Before you can spin acrobatics backward and do back flips and forward flips and what not you got to see it first. And if you can’t see it, then you can’t do it. And so you can also look at how kids grow up.

They see everybody around them is like walking and jumping up and down and running and doing things. And kids are stuck in their little cribs. Like, I’m sitting here and everybody else seems to be doing cool stuff. They can see it every day around them, now the imagination kicks in like, oh, dude, you’re wasting your time in this crap.

You should be out there running. So of course, their imagination goes a little bit further than is warranted. Because they imagine they can run and they can jump and they can do all these crazy things because they’ve been seeing them except their muscles. And everything is not ready for that.

So of course, the first time they get up in their Creek or on the ground, whatever, they immediately fall down. And then comes the day when they can stand. And then with time comes the day when not only can they stand and hold themselves up for a few steps where they can take a few steps, and they are walking.

Finally, they are running and jumping. But regardless, it’s going to be a long journey to the Olympics and to the gold medal. So you got to have imagination and you’re going to need courage. I want to stress the importance of courage. If you’re going to achieve your goals on top of your imagination, you want to have a great deal of courage.

Because for a lot of people, I imagine once you get to the top of those levels. They see the kinds of efforts that are required to keep going. The kinds of efforts that are required to win big deals and to build massive things.

And for most of us, I imagine a lot of people would want to tend back and head back home and pack it in. So have a lot of courage and take a lot of stamina. For those of you and I imagine some of you are watching.

This might be destined to become a billionaire sometime. In which case, I’d say make sure you do as much social good as you can, give, as much as you can contribute to your fellow man, as much as you can.

Have a love for the poor, the weak, and the forgotten people of society. The disabled and the mentally unstable people are troubled in all kinds of ways.

And have a wide ride, have a great time, have fun, work hard, have imagination take plenty of stamina, you’re going to need it. And with that general Tomahawk, I’m out.

What’s up, Peeps?

The general. It’s back with another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. And of course, I’m listening to some of my favorite music, Irish music, brothers, things like that. But today I want to tell you about the creation of the motor industry. He’s more of a warrior than a motivational speaker or any of that. I mean, being a warrior is what he is, and it’s his background. It’s what he did for many years. Can you guess who this is? The toughest man in the world.

David Gargan’s, baby. That’s what we’re talking about. When I look at the people that inspire me. The people from whom I’ve learned a lot about motivation, success, and inspiration. It’s going about making your life what you want it to be. This is Barnard the best of them. It’s hard to talk to Gargan. All right, this is the toughest man in the world, and he will tell you to throw all your excuses out the door. Take a hard, close look at yourself in the mirror and say, I got to change myself. I got to work on myself. I got to go to work. Not on this or that or the other. Not make an excuse about what he or she is doing or is not doing.

Not make an excuse about the neighbors or the boss or any of that. But take a close look at yourself and say, what do I want and what’s missing? And what’s the problem with me and how do I go about fixing it? So I encourage you to take a look at gorgeous at his materials on YouTube. He has a website, but I know he’s done a lot of podcasts, interviews, and things of that sort where you can learn a lot. Take a listen and start. Above all, start putting the lessons into practice. That’s what’s going to make a big difference in your life. So let me give you one of the key concepts that you can learn from David Gargan.

He talks about getting hard and changing his mind, changing his mental condition. The stuff that you tell yourself. The stuff that goes on in your mind, the self-talk, and getting mentally hard like a warrior. And this is what you want to do. But I can’t do justice to Gargan in a video as short as this one. So I encourage you to check out your man, David Gargan. And with that, you’re General Tomahawk. I’m out.

Jocko Willink

Jocko Willink

TRANSCRIPT:

What’s up, folks? General is back to how I became general. Tomorrow. Today I want to talk about one of the icons that I admire. That I have learned a lot from and that I tell you also at home. You can learn a lot from them about motivation, hard work, and success. About what it takes to do the big, lovely goals that you know you need to do.

Today I want to talk about Jocko, one of my main men when it comes to motivation, mindset, and mental strength. All the other great things that you don’t learn watching jersey shore or watching any of that stuff. Jocko, some of you already know him. To those who don’t know him, Jocko is a former Navy Seal. He was a distinguished leader in one of the Seal teams in the battle of Iraq. And he later trained Seals in the US.

You all know, that the Navy Seals are well known for standing levels of excellence, dedication, and hard work. They get the job done no matter what. It doesn’t matter if it’s raining bullets, suffering bombs, and nooks, the Navy Seals are going to get the job done. And Jocko was riding the thick of it. And he’s an icon.

He’s a guy that knows a lot about what it takes, the levels of sacrifice, and dedication. So here are a few lessons I want you to take away from my main Jocko and find on YouTube. Find him online and follow him. Sign up for his email.

At least sign up for everything he’s got going on because you’re going to learn a lot from this guy. He’s one of the great motivational speakers, but also one of the great motivators out there. That’s going to motivate you to get out of your lazy ways and comfort zone and start moving at a different level. Where you can actually do what you need to do. The first big thing I want you to take away from Jocko is that discipline equals freedom.

Jocko is pretty hardcore on this. He is all about discipline. He says, what do you do on a day when you’re so tired you’re spent, you got nothing in you, you can’t do anything else. You need to do the work. You need to run to the Hill. You need to get up and work out. You need to work on the project. You need to do something for your boss. And you know what he says?

He says, gets up and get it down, even if you don’t feel right. Even if everything is falling apart. Even if it’s raining outside and you don’t want to go out there, even if there’s a snowstorm, get up and get it done.

When you do that, that discipline is going to unlock the freedom that you are actually looking for. Discipline equals freedom. He also stresses the importance of working out right. I mean this seems basic but it forms a big part of your home and discipline when you can get control over your body.

When you don’t feel like it but you get up to go work out whether that lifting weights. Whether that’s doing cardio things like swimming, running, or cycling activities. It’s playing sport for you. So if you can get in the habit of working out it’s going to reinforce a lot of positives in other areas of your life. Another big chief value I want you to take away from Jocko is the stresses and importance of extreme accountability.

Extreme accountability means it’s all on you, baby. You aren’t looking to anybody else to get things done for you. You aren’t looking to anybody else to fix and solve the problems for you. The situations in your life and the people in your life might be creating problems at work, at home, or in your family. You’re going to assume the responsibility to make everything right. You see something that is not right. You see trash around your workplace that may be laser workmen dropped. You can choose to complain about it.

You can choose to get better or you can choose to be the one that picks it up and solves that problem. Do you know what happens when you get into that problem-solving mode? It means it’s going to be hard for anything that comes to knock you out of your zone and to get you out off the floor.

When a big problem comes and everybody else is losing their head. Because they have not been training themselves to be problem solvers. To be people with extreme accountability for you it’s going to be different. You’re going to be the man that says no you might scare everything else. And get over everybody else but now I get to solve your big problem.

You take it on so that’s extreme I’d and I want you to learn all these values. All these mental models and mindsets from our man Jocko and with that general Tomahawk are out. Catch you next time.

How To Handle The Coronavirus Like A Champ

How To Handle The Coronavirus Like A Champ

TRANSCRIPT:

What’s up, guys? It’s your man, General of Tomahawk. It’s nighttime, and I’m chilling. I’m relaxing, and I want to talk about how to handle the coronavirus like a champ. And I was reading updates of my man Brady. Football is the greatest of all time. There’s a lot that you can learn from the Champions. How they handle big moments in their lives and something you can apply to the coronavirus as well. Now get it straight.

The coronavirus is a crazy virus. It’s a negative situation for the world, for everybody. But here’s what it doesn’t mean, though. It doesn’t mean you get to write off the plans that you had for this year. It doesn’t mean that you get to throw off the big responsibility. That you have on yourself to become the goat in your own field. To become the champion, go up into that ring, fight with all you’ve got, and rise to the top. So one thing we can all learn from the Champions is to keep pushing forward this year. No matter what, because you owe it to yourself. You owe it to your family, you owe it to those around you, and you owe it to history. This is the time to build your legacy. So the coronavirus might have affected in a multitude of ways. You might have gotten sick, but not. Your job might be cut. You might be losing out on income streams. Maybe business is slow. All kinds of challenges can come up. You are having to postpone a major move that you had wanted to do. That’s all right. What you got to do, but, do you gotta come back from it all stronger than ever and going so much harder and so much smarter.

Use it as a learning opportunity. If you cannot do one thing at this particular time because of the coronavirus. Make up an excuse to do something else that’s as important. But you don’t need to have everything perfect to get ahead with that. If it’s raining outside, stay indoors and build masterwork indoors. If it’s cold inside and it’s freezing, then go outside where it’s shiny, it’s sunny. And the sun is shining, and you can do something amazing, isn’t there? But whatever you do, make every excuse to use this time to become your champion seller. And with that, that’s General Tomahawk on how to handle the coronavirus like a champ. Write to me and let me know if this video helped you.

Robert Cialdini And Psychological Triggers For Selling Courses And Stuff

Robert Cialdini And Psychological Triggers For Selling Courses And Stuff

TRANSCRIPT:

General Tomahawk is back with another episode of How I became General Tomahawk. Today the topic is Robert Cialdini and the triggers.

The psychological triggers of influence will be important to you. If you’re trying to sell calls or you’re trying to sell anything online. Whether you’re trying to promote your business in any kind of way at all.

There’s a great book, Robert Cialdini Influence, the psychology of what’s called influence. The psychology of persuasion is something along those lines.  It’s a great book because Cialdini is an academic psychologist.

He’s way deep in the study and the psychology behind why people do the things they do and how influence works. And this is of great interest to those of us that are actually in the field. What practitioners of influence and the psychology of influence. So you might think that the academic world and the online marketing world, have nothing in common.

Cialdini ties the ideas that practitioners use in a theoretical way. This is why you should do yourself a favor and take a look at his book. It’s a great book. I haven’t read it myself, but I’ve kind of skimmed through and it’s quite powerful.

Some of the sections I’ve Browsed through are crazy good. I plan to read it someday. So let’s look at some of these triggers of persuasion, which are great. So the first trigger is in no particular order. The first trigger is authority. We are more likely to persuade when there’s an authority. And I’m sure you can think of a lot of examples that meet this. But look at this one, a very big one.

The Iraq war. When the US went into Iraq, what happened? Colin Powell stood up and said, the Iraqi regime has got weapons of mass destruction. He was a great, three-star general, top authority. So everybody said, well, we got to do this.

We got to do what everybody is saying. That’s how easy it is to persuade people. And that’s a famous example. It later turned out that power was wrong and there were no weapons of mass destruction. But think if you got the authority, it’s easy to persuade people. So did you paint this one?

This is why you got to read this book to understand how these things work at a deep level. And another psychological trigger of persuasion is reciprocity, right. It’s like if you walk onto a bus and the stranger asks you to hold this drink. You’re going to be like, who does he think he thinks, I’m here to hold this drink?

But suppose this stranger gives up his seat for you and lets you sit and you Scoot over into the next seat and you see it. And then a second later, he says, oh, wait, I got to find something in my bag. Can you hold my drink for a second? You’re going to hold this drink without thinking twice about it. So that’s the power of reciprocity when people do something for us. It’s only natural for us to want to do something for them as well.

And this is a powerful I’m sure you can find all kinds of examples like when stores give out little gifts. And because of that, you are in a happy mood. When you go into the store, you buy something a little bit more than you intended in the first place. Another great psychological trigger of persuasion is social proof. When something is cool, then everybody wants to be cool. You can see this in the world of hip-hop music.

When an artist has been featured on a few songs by some of the big stars. Let’s say an artist collaborates with Rick Ross and he’s collaborated with Kanye West. Then all of a sudden everybody else. Then he goes to do like 20 collabs because everybody before has done those collabs. Nobody else was lining up to want to do a collab. He’s done a song with Rick Ross and Kanye westing now everybody feels that they have to do a song with these guys.

So that’s how easy it is to persuade people when you’ve got social proof. So that’s another big psychological trigger. If you check the psychological triggers, you have to use them in your sales copy. Use them on your website, use them in your marketing funnels, and close it out. Let me give you one final psychological trigger.

There are more psychological triggers that Cialdini talks about. But this one is scarcity. When something is scarce and when there are limited quantities of it. It’s a little bit easier for us to make a decision.

When the store or when a business says, we only got limited editions of this. This is a limited edition thing. Then people that might be on the fence feel like, if we don’t get this, then it’s over. We can’t get it right. You see this with luxury car manufacturers like Porsche will say, this is a limited edition. 1959 millionaires are lining up to buy it because it’s a limited edition. There are only like 50 of them. If they went 50, if there were a whole lot of them, they would only sell a few that year.

They’ve limited the quantity to 50, they are going to sell more than they would if the thing wasn’t scarce. You also see this actually with concert tickets, right? You want to go to artists, make their tickets available, like before the show. They say there’s a limit, strict limit, one ticket per person. Then people are lining up and doing all kinds of crazy things to get their hands on these tickets. Why? Because of scarcity.

So when something is scarce, it’s a lot easier to sell it. Because people are in a solid-state. Because they know that if they delay, they might miss it and they might never get it. So with that general Tomahawk and how I became general Tomahawk.

5 Painfully Bad Ways To Not Sell Your Course

5 Painfully Bad Ways To Not Sell Your Course

TRANSCRIPT:

He’s back as General Tomahawk with another episode of How I became General Tomahawk. Today I want to talk about five painfully bad ways to not sell your course. These are a bunch of things that can stop you if you’re out there. You have an idea for your course and make sure you avoid this one. So the first one is not having a course and never actually taking the time to create the course. And that’s such a blocker because a lot of the time, hey, I want to produce this product.

I want to make that product. And then the day-to-day catches up with us and takes away that whole idea. So make sure you actually create the time to create the product that you’ve been thinking of. The second one is creating the course. Not actually putting in the time to have a clear marketing strategy for it. Making it is one thing, then you actually have to push it out so that people find it and can actually use the course. Number three is hearing about Facebook ads. Which I’ma big fan of, and then running Facebook ads with no idea exactly what you’re doing. This can be harmful because you come away with the idea that Facebook ads don’t work. I tried them.

They don’t work where the actual thing is. You didn’t put in the time and effort to make Facebook ads work or make mistakes. Number four is a painfully bad way to not sell your course. Number four is doing SEO without actually doing SEO. Write a bunch of blog posts on your blog. But never actually taking the time to build links or building spammy links that you buy from FIFA and things like that. Which are only going to penalize your Google search results. Painfully bad way to not sell your cost. Number five is spamming your course link on Facebook and groups will not be giving any value to your potential audience. What this does is it gets everybody against your cost.

What is this? You’re only there to farm your stuff. So please come up with a great marketing strategy. First of all, you want to put some time into creating your course. You don’t have to create the whole thing before you go out there to try and sell it. In fact, there is an outline of the course, right? Then you can start having conversations and start posting content. So that people start finding out about your upcoming course. You’ll get some good ideas about what topics people want to learn about anyway. And then you actually get into marketing. But it’s so important that you get marketing your course and you do it right. Otherwise, you will complain that Facebook ads, SEO, or any of this don’t work with natural effects. It’s you who didn’t work. So catchy live next time on how I became general tomorrow.

Insights In Setting And Accomplishing Goals From The Navy SEALs

Insights In Setting And Accomplishing Goals From The Navy SEALs

TRANSCRIPT:

New Day. New Year. It’s General Tomahawk. Wait, wait. It’s not New Year yet. I’m back with another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. Today, I want to share a simple two-step framework for accomplishing your goals in internet marketing.

I hope this helps you that I’ve been working on some pretty big goals myself in the Internet marketing space. And recently I came up with this two-step framework if you will. So the first step is working on the most important stuff. So you might be going full steam ahead. If you’re working on something that is only capable of affecting 10% of the reality of your strategic space. And the game board, the chess board, then that’s not going to do that much for you.

Even though you’re going hard, that’s good. But you’re not working on the most important thing. At the same time, you might be neglecting something that accounts for 70% of your results. As an example, look at the health space, right? Like if you’re taking all kinds of supplements. Then at the same time, you’re not exercising. You’re not doing something else that’s super important. You’re not avoiding infection or something like that. You’re working in a very dirty area or in an infected space. You might be well on the supplement side. Your health is going to suffer because you’ve ignored something super important. So step one is getting clear and focusing on your most important. I wouldn’t even say task because a lot of tasks that we do are small things that are not going to affect much. You want to work on your most important things.

I’m sure they got this in the military. You hear about the US Navy and its strategic imperatives, and strategic objectives. So that’s what you want to work on. You need to get on the USNavy-type strategic objectives and strategic realities. And those are things that move the needle right now. In the second part, you want to go and edit like full member mode, to quote something that Kobe Bryant has known for. Member mode, which is when you go hard. Corby used to practice so hard he was out there at 03:00 a.m.On the basketball court practicing. So he was working on the right stuff. Getting his three-point shot, getting his free throw, getting his drip off, his unique moves. But at the same time, he wasn’t practicing once a week, he was practicing like crazy. So that’s part two is you want to go at it. You want to work in a certain way where you’re setting yourself up to make very rapid progress towards that goal. You want to throw pretty much all your resources at whatever you are.

If it’s a real US Navy-type strategic aim. Then you want to go hard at it and throw everything that you want to be like a US Navy mission. They throw everything at a mission. You got tactical support, you got air support. You got Navy seals. You got all kinds of things. And that’s what makes for a bang on a mission, right? You don’t put in a small deployment of troops and hope for the best. And I hope you get used to the framework. And with that general Tomahawk, I’m out.

Hey, General Tomahawk is back at the house. Today, I want to tell you about “How I became General Tomahawk”. The product formula for coming up with best-selling product ideas.

I was watching an interview with Ray Dalio the other time. He said something that is the key to making products that sell well. His point was to produce something people want. If you think about what powered Nike to be so powerful? What has powered airport computers and the iPhone? What has powered Snapchat to be so popular with the kids? What has powered any kind of big heat product that you can think about?

If you look behind, these are companies or businesses producing something that people want. One of the ideas from one of the founders of A and B was don’t make something. People like to make something that it’s better to make 100 people would love. They are super passionate about something that 1000 people like.

If you start playing around with this idea. You can set the bar where it needs to be for coming up with best-selling products. With that, General Tom Hawk is out.

Billionaire Tilman Ferttita’s 955 Percent Rule

Billionaire Tilman Ferttita's 955 Percent Rule

TRANSCRIPT:

General Tomahawk is back. And, well, I got RobinSharma playing in the background. Let’s see if we can pause Robin Sharma for a second. And that’s one other thing, too, are you always gotta keep learning and improving your skills.

So today, to help you with your online marketing and your digital marketing. I want to tell you about Cumin Fetita’s 95% Roof. I mean, it seems so surprising when you learn about the 95% roof. Because a lot of people have heard about the parental principle. That says 20% of the effort produces 80% of the results. This is like, it’s a much more hardcore it’s not even a version of that. It’s like beyond the Pareto principle. It says any operation or any business online. He didn’t say online business because he stalked restaurants and things like that.

But, it applies to any economic activity. It says 95% of the stuff you are doing is going to be okay. But it’s that 5% that if you focus on it, is going to produce great results for you. And so I want you to begin to zero in on your 5%, like figure out what’s the 5% that you’re not doing right to the best of your ability. It might be your blog, it might be your podcast, it might be your website. Your website doesn’t look good, so everything else gives a great impression of your brand. But your website doesn’t convert. Or it’s your product, your product sucks, your product needs work, and focus on that 5%. And you can turn around your business operation. You can turn around your online marketing. You can do something spectacular.

And let’s apply this lesson actually to Tim andFetita’s NBA team. The owner of the NBA team, the Houston Rockets. Now, if you’ve seen the Rockets play in the last couple of years. They played well and lost to the Gordon State Warriors. Even though James Harden at one time MVP and in the last couple of years, set a scoring record. So they kind of looked at that situation. They discovered they were not so great at the transition game and things like that.

Their defense also wasn’t that great. But that’s where they brought Russell Westbrook. They say when they look at the ratings and how he works, his transition game is like the best in the League. And he has made them so much more dangerous on that front. So that’s like the 5% that if you don’t do this, you’re never going to win a Championship. But when you fix that, your whole operation becomes a super leader. You’re all set to make history in whatever field or whatever industry you’re working in. So with that, take two men. Fetish’ninety 5% rule general is out.

2020 Election Can Online Marketing Lead To What Borat Calls Election Tamponing

2020 Election Can Online Marketing Lead To What Borat Calls Election Tamponing

TRANSCRIPT:

What’s up with all the online marketers out there? Your man, General Tomahawk, is back with another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. And the topic I want to talk about is up today since it’s election season, and everybody is excited about it.

The Democrats versus Trump, Bernie Sanders, Biden, Trump. Now they got Michael Bloomberg running for President as well. So there’s a lot of excitement. And for you, online marketing is a relevant moment. because I want to ask the question about today. Can you win the Democratic election with online marketing? That’s a big topic. Big question. Right? I hope this one doesn’t let me in court.

But if you look at the last election, there was the whole Cambridge Analytica scandal. Which, had to do with data harvesting and things like that. People on Facebook and Congress are realizing that online platforms can affect the vote of people. But if you go back even further, I would argue that when you look at the two cycles before of election. The Obama versus Hillary ClintonDemocratic nomination campaign.

I would argue that that’s the one that actually shows you that digital marketing does work. The Obama campaign was the first presidential campaign, to use digital marketing tools for their optimal effect. Now, of course, things have evolved since then. There are even more advanced ways to use online marketing to run a presidential campaign if you will.

So whatever they were doing back then might not work today. I guess you’d have to change it because the state of the art is always advancing. So the challenge for your online marketers is that’s the case and things are moving so big. Then you gotta keep educating yourself. But for sure, I would argue that with an online marketing campaign you can election championing. So that’s all with that, General Tomahawk Amanda.

The General Breaks Down Amazon’s Inexorable Success As A Brand

The General Breaks Down Amazon's Inexorable Success As A Brand

TRANSCRIPT:

The general is back and he’s on fire. Welcome back to another episode of how I became General Tomahawk. In this episode, the general breaks down. Amazon’s inexorable success as a brand, and it’s now one of the largest companies in the world. Needless to say, Amazon has been super successful as a brand in ways that you can learn.

If you’re trying to sell info products or if you’re trying to sell a course and build your brand. You have some lessons to learn from Amazon. So here they are in short order. Amazon plays the long game, and a lot of entrepreneurs want to make a quick buck. When you look at the success of Amazon as a brand, they are making little money today to make more in the future. That gives them a lot of staying power, that kind of approach.

So think long term, don’t think short term. Another big thing that prepares theAmazon brand forward is low prices, Okay? They are competing with Walmart.

Amazon has optimized its supply chain to make buyers convenient for shopping here.

So everything is super optimized to deliver low prices to the consumer. That doesn’t mean that this stuff on Amazon is cheap. There’s some pretty costly stuff there as well. But generally, they try to reduce margins on a lot of stuff to attract more customers. Now, that’s not always the approach you want to take. But think about how you can deliver cost savings to the customer and how you can make things more efficient. Third, the Amazon brand rewards you for being a good customer.

So they got Amazon Prime. They give you free shipping, they give you other perks and things like that. So what about your customers, your good customers? Do you treat them better and ? Do you reward them? Airlines have reward cards so that you can earn miles and stuff like that. Amazon takes a similar approach to reward the best customers so that it pays to buy from Amazon again and again. Yet another brand lesson that you can learn from the success of Amazon. It’s how Amazon has embraced digital commerce. So they are a leader in eCommerce.

They’re not following along with everybody else. They’re moving with Alexa and integrating voice into the shopping experience. With a lot of other technologies that you’ve going to come along with, you can be sure Amazon is going to stay on top of it. So if you want to take the lead in your industry, you kind of need to be an early adopter. If there’s a new trend of a product and a new type of approach. You want to be a leader so that you’re giving your customers the most up-to-date stuff in your market.

There’s a lot more than you can learn from Amazon’s success as a brand. In my view, they are one of the best brands in the world and you definitely need to know how they do it. So I hope you take these lessons and I hope you put them into practice on your own breath. And that general is out.

Don’t Make These 4 Silly Mistakes In Your Copy

Don't Make These 4 Silly Mistakes In Your Copy

TRANSCRIPT:

General Tomahawk is in the house today. We’re talking about making these silly mistakes in your copywriting? So this applies, If you’re a conseiller or some other online business and you’re writing your own copy. Please make sure you avoid these silly mistakes.

So the first mistake is trying to be impressive and using super complicated language. Avoid this mistake by all means. The second mistake is writing an essay where every paragraph is thick and long-winded. You keep going on and on. You definitely want to avoid this one because it can put your readers to sleep and readers that are asleep. Do you know what they don’t buy? Another big mistake is being vanilla.

Okay? You don’t want to ride like you’re riding for the Better Business Bureau. Where you try to dirt every I and cross every T and you come off as boring and without personality. You definitely want to avoid this one. Now, the last silly copywriting mistake that you can make is writing for the entire world. It means you are general and you deal in generalities. You don’t narrow down who you are writing for.

So you want to zero in on a specific target audience. A specific target reader and you want to write for who they are and what they are looking for. With that, avoiding these phones was a ceiling copywriting mistake of General Tomahawk.

Catch you next time on “How I became General Tomahawk”.

3 Funny Stereotypes Of Copywriters

TRANSCRIPT:

It is General Tomahawk in the house, the notorious copywriter. And today I want to tell you about three funny stereotypes of copywriters. I hope these don’t apply to me.

Okay, so let’s start with shows like Mad Men. A lot of popular culture references copywriters and the advertising guys. There’s this funny stereotype that copywriters are smart. I guess I must be the exception, right? I guess they think they’re smart.

I guess the copyrighting world is having people that think they are pretty smart. You know what? They should try engineering or medicine. Then they’re going to meet some smart people. The second stereotype of copywriters is that they are a little bit impatient. I want that advertising now. I want that copy down and I want it now. I want that design done and I want it now. Like slow down.

It’s a funny stereotype. The funny stereotype of copyrights. I guess this one might be true. That they’re seen as being a little bit crazy. At least a little bit crazy. I sympathize with that one. Okay, so that’s it. General Tomahawk with three body stereotypes of the copywriting world.

Catch you next time on “How I became General Tomahawk”.

Should You Hire An Expensive Copywriter To Sell Your Course Or DIY

Should You Hire An Expensive Copywriter To Sell Your Course Or DIY

TRANSCRIPT:

You said it, man.

The general is back in the house and the topic for today. Should you hire an expensive copywriter or do it yourself when it comes to selling your course. I made a video another time. Where I compared hiring a great copywriter to hire a top talent like Tom Brady from NFL football.

Two quarterbacks on your team, So that, still holds. That’s very true. A great copywriter can make a huge difference in how well your course is selling.

Great copy on your sales page. Great. Copy in your emails.

Indian, you’re the entire follow. Now, there are some circumstances where it helps to do it yourself.

For instance, if you’re testing your course or you haven’t made the course, you want to test the idea.

Then you wouldn’t want to be buying some expensive copy for that. Or, you know, you want to test a new version of your course.

I guess what I’m saying is if you’re kicking the tires in a sense, experimenting, you know. Then you don’t need to go with high-end copyrighting.

But if you’re selling your main course and this matters for your business. This generates the bulk of your profits.

Then it doesn’t make sense to take the chances on some. It’s a great copy that you write yourself unless you happen to be. Of course, your name happens to be John Carlton and Nebula Dota, in that case, it’s great you do it yourself.

Is Your Course Brand Notorious Enough Selling Your Course

Is Your Course Brand Notorious Enough Selling Your Course

TRANSCRIPT:

You said it, man. General Tomahawk is back.

And today I’m talking about is your course brand notorious enough? Because when you go out there to try and sell your course online. If you look like everybody else, you’re gonna run into trouble.

And I think you know what it looks like. People just don’t pay attention just because it’s not interesting. It’s not exciting. So if there’s one thing you should always think about concerning your course brand, Are you being notorious enough?

Is your coast brand notorious enough? You know, and that doesn’t mean you have to go.

Why that doesn’t have to promise things you can’t deliver. You know, or sell customers on false hopes that are being notorious in a negative way.

You wanna be notorious. Stand out more, bored, allowed, and visible. If you do so, they’re gonna find that you start accessing some of the benefits that come with not being right.

That’s it for today. Is your cost brand notorious enough?

How To Write A Sizzling Hot Sales Page For Your Biggest, Baddest Product

How To Write A Sizzling Hot Sales Page For Your Biggest, Baddest Product

Dear Renegade,

Let’s face it, for many of us solopreneurs, selling can be a drag. Worse, selling online requires you to write those insane sales pages that just drag your creativity down. Or do they?

Here I’m going to share a process that makes it insanely easy to write a pretty solid sales page in just a couple of hours at most.

It’s based on a template of course.

But not just ANY template.

I based my copy process based on this truly insane Million Dollar Template by copywriting Hall Of Famer Clayton Makepeace, a guy who has reportedly sold over $1 Billion dollars worth of products for his clients.

The great thing about the Clayton Makepeace Million Dollar copy template is that it’s got all your bases covered for what you need to include on a sales page:

  • Big Promise
  • Glicken (okay, this is an advanced copywriting thing, you can just copy what the template tells you, it will help, trust me!)
  • Offer
  • Proof
  • Snapshot of Their Future Self
  • Eliminate Risk (What marketing legend Jay Abraham calls “Risk Reversal” e.g. “Try it without paying anything for 30 days.” “Ship it back no questions asked if you don’t like it.” etc.)
  • Add Urgency
  • Amplify the Pain of Not Buying (Sales legend Jordan Belfort teaches this really well in his Straight Line System)
  • Take the order

And I’m not the only marketer who has discovered the helpfulness of Clayton’s template. Roy Furr and Todd Brown, much more expert marketers than yours truly, also swear by this template.

So go here to get Clayton’s Million Dollar copy template for free:

It will change your copywriting experience, for great win 😉

The Little Strategy To Get More Upwork Freelance Clients In 60 Days

The Little Strategy To Get More Upwork Freelance Clients In 60 Days

Dear Fellow Renegade,

Big Picture: No solopreneur or freelancer should really rely on Upwork as their sole source of income long term. Once you understand that and take it to heart, you begin to diversify into passive income and other income streams. And you begin to build your brand and not rely on outbound type prospecting. This is how you get to the next level.

Small Picture: However, you still need to maximize your opportunities on platforms like Upwork. This is essential for making active income. Here’s how you do it.

So, there’s a little strategy for getting a lot more clients that’s almost hidden in plain sight. If you do this right, you can start getting a stream of way more clients and see stunning results in as little as 60 days.

But first, there are some fundamentals you need to make sure you get in place first. If you’re an experienced freelancer on Upwork, I’d assume you’ve pretty much got these dialled in already, but they’re worth a revisit:

  • make sure you’re in a vibrant niche – programming, translation, copywriting, media buying, design, sales closing, research, engineering, etc. There’s a lot more good niches so don’t assume your niche is not strong. Just look to see if there are a lot of profiles of really successful Top Rated freelancers in the niche you’ve selected for yourself. If so, you can be one of them too, and it takes a lot less effort than you might be thinking!
  • make sure you’ve optimized your profile really well – I’ll be honest, I don’t like spending the time on optimizing my profile. I’ve probably gone close to a year at times without updating it. But if you are actively looking for new clients, this is a MUST. It’s kinda like polishing your resume in the traditional world of full time work.
  • make sure you have a strong pitch template – if you’re a bad writer, I’d go so far as to recruit an excellent copywriter who has gotten others stellar results with their pitches on Upwork before. Such people exist, you can find them on Fiverr, with reviews, or elsewhere online. The right ones will be worth every penny.

Now, with those strong fundamentals in place, you’re ready for the simple yet effective strategy. Here’s what you gotta do now to unleash the Upwork client deluge in just 60 days:

Send a ton of pitches every single day without fail

That’s it, simple and plain. And here’s one hard and fast rule: “ton” here means 15+, ideally 20. If you’ve done the work on the fundamentals I listed above first, 60 days should be way too much time to land your first slew of new clients. A mere 3 weeks might have yielded potentially all the clients you can handle, particularly if your profile is outstanding. But for everyone else, 60 days of sustained effort like this, serious consistent daily pitches, a ton of them at the levels I specified, will transform your Upwork freelancing for the better.

That’s all the business “schmizness” advice I have for ya today. Go rock it!

Yours in Upwork unstoppable domination,

Ten
